Every month I will highlight black owned brands you should add into your purchase rotation. Here are 5 clothing brands you need in your wardrobe!

Sybergurl was created for the free-spirited rebel at heart. The fun and standout pieces represent the clothing brands’ stance to represent “GIRL POWER and breaking barriers. ” Sybergurl at its inception was started as a street-wear brand but has now grown to take on and support the empowered woman.

YEMA is a fashionable athleisure brand with a purpose. The collection is also conscious free as it is created from recycling, is 100% handmade, and 10% of every sale is donated towards the education of children in Kibera, Nairobi, Kenya. The YEMA brand was founded to adorn the empowered woman and encourage all women to love their bodies. YEMA’s mission is to inspire women with the mantra to “Honor Yourself” and “Break Standards.” The spirit of the brands is also clearly apparent in the bold colors and patterns of the clothing.

Splendid Rain Co. was created out of the dorm room of Olatiwa Karade and since then it has spiraled into a widely popular Etsy Shop. Splendid Co. Rain was initially created in response to the outcome of the Presidential election in 2016 and also the lived experience of racial prejudice and discrimination. Her clothing empowers people of color to love their melanin and also embraces equality and having voice.

About me

Hello, My Name is Comfort and I am a blogger living in NJ.

This is a hub where fashion, motivation, and women of color can meet to inspire, support and motivate each other towards success.

I will post weekly look books, highlight businesses owned by women of color and offer any lessons and motivation I have learned along the way.

I am not an expert but I think there is beauty in the process and I feel like more people should hear about the journey.
