Face Masks Perfect For Dry Skin

January 9, 2018 by cnkstylebook No Comments

All my fellow dry skin girls know what it’s like to battle dryness in the winter. Here are a few masks that you can use to rejuvenate and revitalize your skin during the winter season.

Dry Skin

DIY Oatmeal, Milk and Honey Mask

Ingredients include lavender essential oil, milk powder, oatmeal powder, and  raw honey. Oatmeal powder is a highly essential ingredient as it provides a gentle scrub to remove dead skin while also moisturizing and soothing. Honey contributes antibacterial properties and also locks in moisture. Lavender adds a beautiful delicate scent with anti-inflammatory properties.

Step 1: Add 2 Tbs of powdered oatmeal, powdered milk, and raw honey

Step 2: Add 2 or 3 drops of lavender essential oil

Step 4: Blend everything together

Step 5: Apply with cosmetic brush and leave on for 15 minutes

Step 6: Rinse of with warm water and apply moisturizer to seal in moisture.

In-Store

Avocado & Oatmeal Facial Clay Mask, $4.29

This product includes many essentials that will soothe and smooth your dry skin such as vitamin E, avocado, and oatmeal.

Mario Badescu Super Collagen Mask, $24

Glam Glow Hydrating Treatment, $69

Glam Glow has definitely risen in popularity in 2017. This particular mask contains coconut oil which is an essential oil in fighting environmental contaminants. It will also boost your lipid barrier and restore moisture.

The Reason Why You Need A Vision Board and How To Create One

January 5, 2018 by cnkstylebook 1 Comment
Many people don’t take out the time to envision their 2018 and having a focus is important. Ask yourself key questions about where you want to be and what will make you happy in 2018. There is a long list of things that can be envisioned in your life, which can include your career, your relationships, skills that you want to gain or places that you want to go in life. One key benefit of vision boards is that creating a space and a visual representation of where you see yourself can help bring it to life.

Visualization is a powerful exercise and the power of a person’s thoughts and mind can take you farther than you can possibly imagine. According to a popular book The Secret,

The law of attraction is forming your entire life experience and it is doing that through your thoughts. When you are visualizing, you are emitting a powerful frequency into the Universe.

One major rule about vision boards is that essentially there are no rules. Vision boards can reflect a way that you want to feel throughout 2018, they can be goal oriented and filled with images of things you want to accomplish or they could just be filled with positive notes and images that inspire you on a daily basis. It doesn’t matter as long as you are creating a positive impact on your life by inserting direction and positivity in you thoughts on a daily basis.

Here is how I would create a goal-oriented vision board:

Step 1: Create a list of areas in your life that important to you to fulfill in 2018

Take out time, set the mood, and let your stream of consciousness reflect your deepest desire unto paper

Step 2: Collect magazines that you love or images from Pinterest that are a visual representation of your goals.

Step 3: Map out your images on your poster before taping or gluing it down.

Step 4: Find a place on your wall that you see everyday.

Comment down below if you have envisioned your year before by vision board or if you have made one for 2018!
