March Madness Music Playlist

April 6, 2018 by cnkstylebook 1 Comment
March-Madness-Music-Playlist-Image

The March Madness music playlist is curated for the person who needs a moment of R&R or even contemplation. March for me was definitely a month of growth as I’ve been focusing on setting strong foundations for myself in the next couple of months. I have huge goals to complete for the year and in order to reach those goals I had to establish systems and also look in the mirror and figure out exactly what I needed to sacrifice. The March Madness playlist came into play because whenever you feel overwhelmed because there are so many changes going on sometimes a calming, vibey, playlist is exactly what you didn’t know you needed. If you have been following my monthly playlists then you will know by now that slow, vibey r&b is what I love to listen to and I’m always finding new artists to highlight. If you are an upcoming artist feel free to drop a comment and send your music!

A few artists I would like to highlight in this playlist include Chloe and Halle, India Shawn and The Weeknd. Chloe and Halle are super talented young women who are the embodiment of black girl magic. At a very young age, they both started out on YouTube doing covers and in particular Beyonce covers. Eventually, Beyonce was tagged enough by people to take a look at their work which led to her taking them both on as her protégés. Recently, they have released their first project The Kids Are Alright. On this playlist, I feature my favorite songs from the album which include “Everywhere”, “Fake” and “Happy Without Me.” I have also featured the wonderfully talented India Shawn who is underrated but yet amazing and her single “Water Me” is highlighted in March Madness. Lastly, but certainly not least is the Weeknd who we all know but has finally returned back to the older Weeknd sound that I very much love. The Weeknd recently put out a short EP called My Dear Melancholy which plays into those dark, vibey tones we used to all love about the Weeknd.

Catch the rest of the playlist below and let me know what you think!

5 Money Saving Habits You Should Use

March 30, 2018 by cnkstylebook 4 Comments
Money-Saving-Habits

Reverse Your  Thinking:

Most people can relate to the cycle of getting your paycheck, treating yourself, paying your bills, and then saving what is left of your money. What if all you need to do to be closer to your money saving habits is to flip your thinking? Instead, people should envision their financial goals, pay their bills and then spend what is left of that money. Money saving and building wealth is all about discipline, strategy, and creating mind tricks that can entice you towards choosing the smarter option.

Save For Where You Envision Yourself:

Many financial experts would advise to have a 5 year plan in mind where you create attainable smaller money goals in order to reach a larger goal. An example of this strategy is saving 6 months of income till you have enough to move to a new location.

Pay Debt Down With Extra Money:

The most essential part about creating wealth is eliminating debt. As a millennial, I understand the struggle of dealing with a huge load of loan debt that may feel crushing. However, paying off loan debt can be a reality if you are strategic. This can be done with any bonuses, cash gifts, tax refunds, or any extra money that comes your way.

Put Your Money On Automatic:

Setting up automatic payments, savings, and investment contributions is a great way to leave room for other money habits. This is a great habit to form as you can easily have all your finances taken care of without much struggle or thought.

Meal Plan:

Food can easily become an expensive affair if not planned and budgeted. Set aside a meal budget and cook or prepare your meals to bring for lunch. Cutting out the expense of purchasing lunch can save you a lot of money and even force you to pick, cook and eat healthier options.

Comment down below if you utilize any of these techniques to save money!

Florida Travel Guide

March 28, 2018 by cnkstylebook 16 Comments
Wynwood Art Walls Shot with Comfort

Recently, I have travelled to the sunny side of Florida from March 14th- March 25th. It was a welcome respite from the cold Jersey weather and it was great to disconnect, relax, and explore new places. My friends and I are typically very adventurous and we love trying out different restaurants, seeking thrilling activities, and of course people watching. If you are an adventurous foodie with a love for people then my Florida Travel Guide is exactly what you never knew you needed.

Stay:

The best place to stay in Florida is anywhere in or near South Beach. Many of the restaurants, beaches and activities can be found by this location and will surely cut down uber costs if a place is simply booked in this vicinity.

My friends and I ended up staying at an Airbnb that was fairly close to South Beach and transportation was not too expensive as we were able to split it amongst each other six ways. Also, when booking an Airbnb it is always better to book earlier to have more options at an affordable price point.

Eats:

Wet Willies South Beach

Wet Willies South Beach

Puerto Sagua Miami– My first impression of Puerto Sagua was that it was small and cozy. It immediately gave off the ambiance of a home cooked meal and essentially that is exactly what you g0t at Puerto Sagua. Along with a welcoming environment, it hosts an extensive menu with a variety of Cuban food options and of course desert. I started out my meal with delicious chicken empanadas, ordered the oxtail stew over a bed of rise and plantations for my main course and then finished off my amazing meal with apple pie a la mode. The apple pie was hands down the best apple pie I’ve had in a while and my friends who ordered the tres leche had a similar experience.

Wet Willie’s South Beach– If you are looking for big drinks and the perfect people watching location then look no further. Wet Willie’s specialty are large fun drinks that are worth your buck and it was also a great location for people watching with it’s rooftop seats. Wet Willie’s also offers typical bar food options but I highly recommend their nachos which my friends and I all loved.

Art:

Wynwood Art Walls-The Wynwood Art District is a photographer and art lover’s dream as it hosts a variety of fun art walls and art exhibits. My friends and I spent a solid amount of time walking the walls, taking pictures, and enjoying the moment.

Thrill:

Jetski Miami

Miami Water Life Tours

Thrill seekers can find an ample amount of water sport activities and I think that you can’t go anywhere without seeking a bit of a thrill. Miami offers many options such as speed boats, parasailing, snorkeling, and jetskis. I was able to sign us all up for a jetski tour with Miami Water Life Tours where we had an exciting experience.

Comment down below if you’ve been to any of these places or others in Miami!
