March-Madness-Music-Playlist-Image

The March Madness music playlist is curated for the person who needs a moment of R&R or even contemplation. March for me was definitely a month of growth as I’ve been focusing on setting strong foundations for myself in the next couple of months. I have huge goals to complete for the year and in order to reach those goals I had to establish systems and also look in the mirror and figure out exactly what I needed to sacrifice. The March Madness playlist came into play because whenever you feel overwhelmed because there are so many changes going on sometimes a calming, vibey, playlist is exactly what you didn’t know you needed. If you have been following my monthly playlists then you will know by now that slow, vibey r&b is what I love to listen to and I’m always finding new artists to highlight. If you are an upcoming artist feel free to drop a comment and send your music!

A few artists I would like to highlight in this playlist include Chloe and Halle, India Shawn and The Weeknd. Chloe and Halle are super talented young women who are the embodiment of black girl magic. At a very young age, they both started out on YouTube doing covers and in particular Beyonce covers. Eventually, Beyonce was tagged enough by people to take a look at their work which led to her taking them both on as her protégés. Recently, they have released their first project The Kids Are Alright. On this playlistI feature my favorite songs from the album which include “Everywhere”, “Fake” and “Happy Without Me.” I have also featured the wonderfully talented India Shawn who is underrated but yet amazing and her single “Water Me” is highlighted in March Madness. Lastly, but certainly not least is the Weeknd who we all know but has finally returned back to the older Weeknd sound that I very much love. The Weeknd recently put out a short EP called My Dear Melancholy which plays into those dark, vibey tones we used to all love about the Weeknd.
